Geoscience Graduate Internship - 1 Year - Position Now Filled

Location:

We are based in well-equipped modern premises in Somerton, Somerset. Some overseas travel may be required.

Role:

We are looking for a graduate intern to join our Global Operations team. You will be working closely under the supervision of our staff Geoscientist on the development and marketing of our latest seismic products, along with assisting with providing client support and training in seismic data acquisition and processing.  Throughout the year you will be given specific business development projects/technical paper(s) to deliver. This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a career in the hydrocarbon exploration industry.

Example Responsibilities – 

  • Assisting with seismic data processing to QC both client operations and in house research and development (some practical field work will be involved).
  • Producing training resources for client users of borehole seismic equipment.
  • Supporting and eventually delivering client training in borehole seismic acquisition/processing theory.
  • Assisting with marketing presentations and geophysical technical articles/papers
  • Supporting organisation of our 2015 global marketing campaign – including website/expositions/workshops/university outreach.
Skills and Experience:

The applicant should have good numeracy, communication, and team working skills along with the ability to apply oneself and learn quickly, together with a practical bent.

Training on relevant borehole seismic acquisition/hardware and data processing will be provided.

Qualifications:

You should hold or be in the final year of a Geophysics or Geology Bachelors/Masters Degree, with a degree class (or anticipated degree class) of 2.1 or higher.
Good results in basic sedimentary stratigraphy and seismic exploration principles are essential.

Strong arithmetic and ICT skills are valued.

Good familiarity with all office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) based programs and  Adobe CCS/Photoshop would be an advantage.

Pay and Conditions:

12 Months (max) work is offered, 37.5 hrs a week, £competitive, 20 days holiday + bank holidays.

Engineering Design Internships - Summer 2015-All Positions Now Filled

Role:

We are looking for 1-3 summer interns to join our electronic design department. You will be working on the design and development of new products, and will be given a specific project. This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a career in engineering design and development.

Skills and Experience:

The applicant should have good numeracy, communication, and team working skills, the ability to apply themselves and learn quickly, together with a practical bent.

Qualifications:

You should be at the end of your second year in an Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Degree, with anticipated degree class of 2.1 or better.
For the electronic design internship; good results in Analogue and Digital Design, Microcontrollers, Test and Measurement, Control and Communications modules are relevant. Familiarity with FPGA technology and VHDL-based design flow would be an advantage.

Pay and Conditions:

10-14 weeks work is offered, 37.5 hrs a week, £competitive, some holiday within this period could be agreed.
